The house on Dolgorukovskaya street is a unique reconstructed historical building in the center of Moscow. It was designed by the architect Fyodor Kolbe in 1909 and presented a striking example of Art Nouaveu.
The building once belonged to the famous Russian industrialist and philanthropist Savva Mamontov and was used as an apartment house. One of its residents was the famous singer Fyodor Shalyapin, admired and supported by the philanthropist via financing of the Russian Private Opera. The Dolgorukovskaya House often hosted the concerts, in which Fyodor Shalyapin performed together with other famous singers and artists of that time.
